At Legal & General we've worked hard to produce a website that is fully accessible and usable to as many people as possible.

When new laws were introduced promoting greater awareness of disabled users, we saw this as an opportunity not just to tick a few compliance boxes, but to raise the bar for what a website of this kind could actually achieve.

From the coding to the copy, we pulled apart our online offering and put it back together again with a view to making www.legalandgeneral.com simpler, clearer and easier to use, not just for people with disabilities, but for all our visitors. The result is a milestone in accessible user experience.

This site complies with all priority one and two checkpoints of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and as many as possible of priority three. We've included accessibility checks in every step of our design and build process. And people with disabilities have been involved in shaping the design and testing the applications right through the process.
